Samsung Experience shop inside a Denver area Best Buy.
Getting its ducks in a row for the holiday shopping season, Samsung is rolling out 1,400 “Samsung Experience Shops” in Best Buy stores nationwide this summer. All of the new shops are expected to be completed well before the fourth quarter, which is traditionally the biggest time of year for mobile device sales.
The special display areas focus solely on Samsung devices, from its flagship Galaxy smartphones and tablets to cameras and accessories.
At a Best Buy location in Denver, the shop has already been completed and includes live Galaxy S4 smartphones and the Galaxy Note for consumers to play with, as well as tablets. On one wall, a TV screen allows salespeople to demonstrate the devices and their use at home for functions such as a universal remote.
Jennifer Pabian, senior manager for product marketing with Samsung Mobile, spoke with RCR Wireless News’ about the new retail spaces, as well as new features of both the flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone and the Galaxy Note.
Pabian gave RCR Wireless News demonstrations of various features of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone, which sold 10 million units in its first month of release; and its Note 8 device.
Here is the demo of the Note 8, including the multi-window option (using Polaris Office), changes in screen orientation, use of the S-Pen and sharing documents from the device.
