T-Mobile US may be getting the last laugh in its very public face-off with BlackBerry. It all started when T-Mobile emailed its subscribers who use BlackBerry devices, encouraging them to switch to the i-Phone. The carrier received a barrage of negative email from BlackBerry loyalists. In response, it offered $200 to any BlackBerry user who wanted to trade in for a new device, and a $250 credit to any BlackBerry user trading their phone in for a new BlackBerry. Today, an internal T-Mobile memo obtained by Tmo News shows that trade ins of BlackBerry devices rose to 15 times normal levels at T-Mobile during the promotion. 94% of those trading in their BlackBerries did not choose a new BlackBerry.
