This week, WIND Hellas announced a new network performance management platform and Cisco released a new system to support wireless Local Area Network infrastructures. Additionally, Ericsson launched a new video processes solution and Oracle unveiled a new system to address Web and application development needs.
WIND Hellas' NIMS-PrOptima
On March 25, WIND Hellas announced the availability of its OSS transformation software, NIMS-PrOptima, a converged Fixed/IP/Mobile network performance management system. The technology enables users to simplify a number of telecom processes, and can also provide reduced operating expenditures, boosted network quality and automation across several department silos.
Cisco's 802.11ac Aironet 2700 Series Access Point
On March 26, Cisco released an additional solution as part of its 802.11ac portfolio, the Cisco Aironet 2700 Series Access Point, a program for optimizing deployment of Gigabit Wi-Fi. The software can provide a reliable and safe support arrangement for provider's LAN infrastructures, enabling firms to make offerings available for mobile devices, applications and information being transmitted in high-density customer networks. Overall, the software allows network resources to be improved, enabling enterprise clients to have more powerful, rapid services for business processes.
Ericsson's Virtualized Encoding
Earlier this month, Ericsson unveiled the first system that allows users to utilize multiple encoding resources across different platforms called Ericsson Virtualized Encoding. The software aims to reduce the complexities associated with TV Anywhere video processing and boost telco's use of bandwidth and overall network resources.
"The new solution is completely task and service-oriented, intelligently allocating resources and simplifying the process of selecting the right encoding method and platform based on the operator's priorities for deployment speed, video quality and output," Ericsson stated.
Oracle's NetBeans IDE 8.0
To address developers' needs for Java language and platform standards, Oracle released NetBeans IDE 8.0 on March 25. The system enables these groups to utilize features in a range of Java products, including the newest version Java SE 8.
