Flush with cash after selling its stake in Verizon Wireless, Vodafone is investing in broadband in Southern Europe. The carrier will spend $96.5 million to boost its stake in Hellas Online to 91%, and plans to eventually buy the rest of the Greek company.
This purchase gives Vodafone an additional 72.7% of Hellas Online; the British carrier already had an 18.5% stake.
