Global Telecom: Scandinavian operator deploys LTE Networks

AINMT Holdings, which operates as Ice.net and Net1 deploys LTE networks in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

The company has hired Alcatel-Lucent to start the process by first completing a mobile broadband access network. The LTE network will be rolled out across Norway next year and will replace the existing CDMA network. Voice-over-LTE trials will also be conducted during the process to prepare for the launch.

MTN Rwanda has commercially launched LTE and added 42 new sites in Kigali, the largest city in Rwanda. Hope Magazine reports that of the 42 new sites, 25 of them are currently on air while the remaining are expected to be up by the end of November.

 •Rumors are circulating about China Unicom‘s investment plan for 2015. Sina science and technology is reporting that next year the company will build 3G base stations, while also constructing 4G base stations to achieve higher data capacity. The website is citing informed sources but this information has not been confirmed.
