NAIAS 2015: Covisint B2B Cloud Platform demonstration

DETROIT – Covisint’s B2B Cloud Platform is designed to allow drivers to visualize information from their vehicle, dealership and third-party app providers as well as lets automotive manufacturers view integrated information from multiple systems quickly and in one location. With an integrated view of customer information, original equipment manufacturers can provide a more-targeted relationship with car owners resulting in greater customer satisfaction and retention.

Customers want to communicate with their service providers, including OEMs and service providers, in the same way they communicate with their social contacts – instantly and with a flow of information tailored to their topics of interest. This communication creates a different level of relationship than today’s occasional direct mail pieces and calls from their local dealer.

At the Detroit Auto Show, Covisint demonstrated one of the many tools it has to offer through their platform. The functionality to transition all personal settings and information to a new car. As our cars become more connected, they are integrating into our personal information and connections in ways never before dreamed of. They know where we go, what we listen to, have access to our online connections and passwords and, in some cases, even a connection to our house. So what happens when it’s time for a new vehicle, how do we ensure a smooth transition? This is not only about not having to set everything up again in a new car, more importantly it’s about the security of our personal data to ensure there is no possibility of anyone being able to access this information once the car is no longer in our possession.

The following video shows how to protect personal data with Covisint’s solution.

This is just one of many solutions Covisint is providing to the automotive industry, but is key as we move into a world where our cars might know us better then some of our friends do.
