Tecore’s’ Portable LTE network supports mission critical communications in the most challenging use cases.

The aftermath of a disaster is a trying time for everyone involved. In these moments of uncertainty, it’s essential that public safety professionals can coordinate the mission-critical processes crucial to response and recovery regardless of whether the local cellular networks are up and running or congested.

Beyond disaster scenarios, the need for secure, on demand communications systems also applies to government, military, controlled enterprise, where trusted and reliable service is imperative and often not met by many commercial wireless solutions.

Tecore Networks brings more than two decades of proven success to this space, with its innovative easy-to-use products, many of which are tailored to specific deployment scenarios.

At the recent CTIA Super Mobility conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tecore Networks showcased its LYNX Network in a Box ® (NIB) platform, which delivers a complete 4G Network (both Core and Access) in a hardware package the size of a shoe box. The LYNX NIB also supports the latest industry advancements such as LTE-A and LTE-U and can be readily adjusted to different operating bands, aggregation sets, and network parameters for local conditions and environment, as required.

Tecore Networks Executive Vice President Casey Joseph told RCR Wireless News that the company’s experience in challenging deployments has resulted in a product suited to everything from FirstNet rapid deployment scenarios to delivering localized LTE capability in challenging geographic environments such as mining camps, deep sea oil platforms, and anywhere in between.

“Whether you are a commercial or private network operator, Tecore is ideally suited to enable the deployment of a cost-effective, size optimal, adaptable LTE solution anywhere in the world,” he said. “While the requirements of any network deployment are distinct from one to the next, all users face the same basic challenges in providing reliable communications in non-permissive environments – our extensive experience in deploying networks in these types of areas make us the ideal solution provider for these customers.”

He also reflected on lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina, which devastated portions of Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana when it made landfall in 2005 causing more than an estimated $100 billion in damage and taking more than 1,200 lives.

“One of the biggest challenges with Katrina was the lack of communications capabilities for support personnel on the ground.” Joseph said. “A target of FirstNet is to address these types of situations in the future. The LYNX NIB is an ideal fit for FirstNet rapid deployment use cases, enabling local LTE communications and delivering situational awareness to first responders as soon as they arrive on the scene. The LYNX NIB is ready today to meet the rapid deployment requirements of the network.”

He also pointed out that when a customer is dealing with a life or death situation, there is not sufficient time to go through the machinations of manually calibrating a system. With that, he gestured to a LYNX NIB and toggled a single switch causing a green light to power on; “When the Green light is on and we’re a go for communications. Rapidly adjusting the system for a changing environment is something that we’ve automated into the product.”

The LYNX NIB offers a comprehensive 4G LTE service including localized support for voice, text, MMS and Internet/Intranet access. Multiple LYNX NIB units can be networked together to provide access across sites, dynamically expanding the coverage area as needed.

Building on its software-defined all IP iCore, Tecore Networks has proven its commitment to providing clients with safe, secure, and reliable communications platforms with its evolving product lines. The LYNX NIB draws on that history to provide a cutting-edge, scalable, and dependable solution for times when the network just has to work.
