Radio frequency components and cabling company L-com is set to merge with Infinite RF, which is a portfolio company of RF component brands backed by private equity company Genstar Capital.
This is the first acquisition by Infinite RF since it was purchased by Genstar in late May. Infinite RF’s other business units include Pasternack and Fairview Microwave. L-com manufactures a wide range of RF products from antennas to connectors and other networking equipment across its own family of brands, which include Six Point Wireless, MilesTek, Aiconics and HyperLink Technologies.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Infinite RF will continue to operate from its headquarters in Irvine, California. L-com is based in North Andover, Massachusetts.
Terry Jarnigan, CEO of Infinite RF, said in a statement that the merger “will not only expand the range of the combined company’s product offering, but will also aid in expanding its ability to be responsive to customer requests for on-demand custom manufacturing across expanded global sales channels.”
Rob Rutledge, managing director at Genstar Capital, said that the company is moving quickly to grow Infinite RF and that Genstar “[continues]Â to pursue additional acquisitions as a growth strategy to broaden Infinite’s products, capabilities and brands to serve its global customers.”
