The Microsoft/KPMG partnership will target Indian organizations willing to implement IoT initiatives.
Microsoft and auditing firm KPMG have established a strategic “internet of things” advisory partnership targeting the Indian market. The two firms plan to combine efforts to accelerate the digital transformation of Indian organizations.
The IoT Advisory is expected to help enterprises deploy solutions designed to drive cloud-based automation; generate operational insights through IoT; provide better customer relationship management and analytics; improve organizational agility; and increase workforce mobility.
“The partnership brings together KPMG’s consulting expertise on digital transformation with Microsoft’s proven experience in spearheading large IoT implementations,” explained Peter Gartenberg, GM for the enterprise and partner group at Microsoft India. “The IoT Advisory will help define IoT usage scenarios for customers and then implement them for desired business impact.”
In India, Microsoft’s offering includes software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, infrastructure-as-a-service, its Azure cloud platform, Office 365 and Dynamics 365.
Telkomsel launches 4.5G in nine cities across Indonesia
In other APAC news, Indonesian telecommunications firm Telkomsel said it launched what it terms “4.5G” services in nine cities across the country.
The telco said the technology is available in Grapari in Medan, Jakarta, Bandung, Denpasar, Mataram, Pontianak, Makassar, Manado and Ambon. Telkomsel is working with Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei and ZTE on the project, and said it’s using 20 megahertz of bandwidth in the 1800 MHz band combined with 4×4 multiple-input/multiple-output antenna technology for the deployment.
Telkomsel currently has approximately 12 million LTE customers in more than 180 city districts across Indonesia.
