Fawzi is a visionary, thought leader, author, entrepreneur and contributor in advancing adoption of technology in serving humanity. Fawzi spent over 30 years in industry and held various executive and leadership positions with Tier 1 companies in the areas of communications and networks spanning supply-chain from service provider to equipment vendor to semiconductor in US and Canada.
Fawzi was a principle architect and championed the definition and the development of integrated pre-IoT telecom alert system and networking management solution at Teleglobe Canada. He was a senior product manager with Nortel Networks for enterprise broadband edge and core product releases. Fawzi, also served as the Director of Strategic Marketing with Motorola/Freescale for SoC networking & Communications product line in Austin, Texas.
Fawzi is passionate about technology automation and has founded TelNet Management Consulting Inc. in 2009 offering consulting services in the areas of technology trends, and IoT/GIS/mobile/wearables technology positioning, smart networking solutions for key markets such as fitness & healthcare, smart homes/building, smart energy, smart infrastructure and smart cities. Fawzi has been a keynote & distinguished speaker, and presenter at several domestic and international conferences. Fawzi is active in international forums and standards activities with ITU, ITRS and IEEE. Fawzi is a senior member of IEEE and is currently a Distinguished Lecturer for IEEE Communications and Computer Societies. He is the vice chair for IEEE ComSoc North America Board, Co-founder of Intelligent Health Association IoT for Healthcare consortium, and member of Austin Smart City Consortium. Fawzi is founding chair, IEEE Central Texas EMBS chapter in Austin. He is currently the chair of IEEE Computer Society, ComSoc/Signal Processing Austin chapters, and IEEE Central Texas section conference chair. Fawzi was a recipient of Freescale CEO Diamond Chip Award in 2008, IEEE Region 5 Outstanding member service award for 2013, 2014 and 2015. He also, received IEEE Communications Society Chapter Achievement award in North America and Chapter of the Year award globally across 212 chapters.
Fawzi holds a Bachelor of Science with honors and distinction from Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Masters in Computer Science from University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, and Executive MBA from Queens University, ON, Canada.
