Libelium said U.S smart city projects represents 30% of the firm’s turnover
Spanish wireless sensor maker Libelium announced that its IoT sensor platform Plug & Sense! and IoT gateway Meshlium are available for smart city deployments using 4G networks in the U.S, Europe and Australia, among other markets.
The company said it has already obtained the PTCRB certifications needed to evolve from “proof of concept” projects to massive deployments in the U.S. Libelium has also certified its devices with AT&T service policies.
Libelium highlighted the 30% of the company’s business comes from smart cities projects from U.S. customers that are deploying platforms with 4G connectivity.
The Spanish company has reached out to similar certifications for the European and Australian markets. In Austrlia, Libelium has obtained the compliance stamp from local mobile operator Telstra. Libelium has also recently been approved by the new 4G device rules in Brazil.
The third generation of Libelium’s IoT sensor platform has accomplished all the international certifications: CE (Europe), FCC (US), IC (Canada), ANATEL (Brazil), RCM (Australia), PTCRB (US) and AT&T (US). These certifications include different radio technologies: 802.15.4 (2.4GHz), 4G, WiFi, LoRaWAN, Sigfox and 868 / 900MHz RF options, the Spanish firm said.
“This fact makes possible to use the 4G versions of the sensor node Plug & Sense! and the IoT gateway Meshlium in any of these countries”, said David Gascón, Libelium’s CTO. “We have made a big effort getting the new products ready for the major IoT markets worldwide”.
“When everyone is talking about LPWAN technologies, we consider 4G a really good option for applications such as water management, irrigation control or air quality monitoring in terms of bandwidth, network coverage and connectivity cost”, added Alicia Asín, Libelium’s CEO.
Libelium recently said that it has reached 40 cloud platforms already integrated with its IoT gateway Meshlium.
Swedish vendor Ericsson is among the new members of Libelium Cloud partner program. Libelium has also integrated infiswift, an U.S IoT platform specialized in solar photovoltaic monitoring and precision farming; C2M, a three layered IoT and digital transformation platform, and Redd System, a company focused on delivering telemetry and tele-control solutions.
These new partners have joined to existing Cloud platforms as Amazon Web Services, Arrow, Azure Microsoft, IBM Bluemix, Indra, Telefonica, Telit and Thingworx with which Libelium has already developed projects in more than 120 countries.
