LiveAction adds multi-vendor SD-WAN support to LiveSP

LiveAction releases network monitoring platform LiveSP

Private network monitoring software company LiveAction recently unveiled a network monitoring platform, LiveSP (Service Provider), made with an eye toward global network service providers. The platform supports multi-vendor software-defined wide-area networks (SD-WANs), and comes with built-in network analytics for easy monitoring, according to the company.

SD-WAN is a technology that optimizes enterprise WAN connections, determining the optimal route to direct traffic to and from branch offices and data centers. Companies are embracing SD-WAN technology as an effective way to reduce WAN operational expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) costs. Global market intelligence firm IDC projects the SD-WAN market to reach about $8 billion by 2021.

LiveAction’s LiveSP was the result of its Service Provider Business Unit. The unit emerged after LiveAction acquired the service provider network monitoring technology of LivingObjects, a Toulouse-France based software development company, last year. LiveSP includes customized reports on network KPIs, in addition to supporting application visibility and SD-WAN monitoring for IWAN, Viptela, Nokia Nuage, among others. By providing greater visibility across the network, LiveSP is intended to recognize and resolve problems before they occur.

Although LiveAction developed LiveSP with the technology it purchased from LivingObjects, features of the company’s other network performance analytics platform, LiveNX (Network Experience), are included in it as well. The company said LiveSP complements LiveNX, which is intended to solve visibility and analytics challenges of managing hybrid networking platforms.

“LiveSP is already the preferred network monitoring platform for some of the world’s largest global network service providers, managing more than 10,000 enterprise customers, 80,000 CPEs, and scaling to meet the needs of one of the world’s largest SD-WAN deployments, managing over 3,000 sites through a single pane,” said Darren T. Kimura, executive chairman of LiveAction, in a statement. “As more businesses increase their reliance on network service providers, LiveSP will enable those service providers to deliver new monitoring and reporting functionality for their enterprise customers.”
