Accedian buys Performance Vision
Accedian announced its acquisition of network and application performance management (NPM/APM) provider Performance Vision as part of an initiative to grow its revenue, and expand into new markets and business segments. Financial details of the purchase were not disclosed.
Performance Vision offers management tools, which enable users to track, maintain, and visualize network and application performance in real-time. Network monitoring solutions have become increasingly important as companies use their internal networks for day-to-day business operations. According to research firm Gartner, the network performance monitoring and diagnostics market sits at $1.6 billion, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 20.7%.
As part of the acquisition, Accedian will bring Performance Vision’s end-user digital experience monitoring capabilities to Accedian’s existing customer base. It will also help the company reach other industries like banking, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing and cloud services.
“The combination of Performance Vision and Accedian creates a proposition that is truly unique,” said Accedian CEO Patrick Ostiguy. “There is no other company that is able to offer this level of accuracy and granularity into how the performance of the network and the applications running over it impact the end-user digital experience, in real-time, for enterprises of all sizes.”
In particular, Accedian said that Performance Vision’s wire data analytics will complement Accedian’s SkyLIGHT active monitoring platform, which provides network visibility to service providers. The combined Accedian and Performance Vision platform will be completely virtualized. Its purpose is to unify capabilities typically distributed in various products and solutions, thereby reducing complexities and the total cost of ownership.
“Our new relationship with Accedian adds valuable scale and reach, allowing us to deliver our solutions to a wider range of customers and organizations than was previously possible,” said CEO of Performance Vision Gilles Huguenin. “By combining our resources and expertise, we can accelerate innovation and deliver unified solutions that help our customers obtain maximum value and performance from their network and applications – and by extension help their business perform better.”
