Liberty Lake based IoT provider Itron has signed a contract with Louisville Water Company, in Louisville, Kentucky, to replace around 280,000 water meters.
Itron will install smart meters in their place, alongside a data management platform. It said the meters capture and communicate data around water usage in ‘real time’. The new OpenWay Riva modules will enable faster detection of water losses in the system, and better decision making to “minimize overall damage”.
Louisville Water Company serves around one million people in Louisville.
