Actility said that the gateway is fully configurable and manageable from the standard ThingPark Enterprise console
French IoT specialist Actility has announced the integration of Motorola Solutions’ MC-EDGE Intelligent Gateway into its ThingPark platform with the aim of simplifying and acceleratinp the deployment of low-power, wide-area network solutions, the former said in a release.
Actility said that the integration allows enterprise, industrial and public sector customers to implement value-added end-to-end industrial IoT use cases such as infrastructure monitoring, industrial automation, geolocation, metering and submetering.
The firm added that the MC-EDGE offers redundant communication capabilities and transport across LTE, land mobile radio (LMR) and low power, long range wide area networks (LoRaWAN), enabling customers to implement IoT systems that fully support critical operations. The combined offering addresses the requirements for security and operational continuity by using fully private and redundant LoRaWAN infrastructure, the company said.
Actility’s LoRaWAN base station, in combination with the MC-EDGE, provides an integrated end-to-end solution for critical IoT deployments, according to the company. The gateway is fully configurable and manageable from the standard ThingPark Enterprise console, integrated with ThingPark PKI and can be securely upgraded over the air, the French company added.
ThingPark also implements a library of connectors which take care of activation and synchronization of digital twins at scale for all IoT platforms including Microsoft Azure IoT hub and IoT Central, AWS IoT Core, PTC Thingworx and others.
“Motorola Solutions’ expertise in critical IoT innovation, coupled with Actility’s advanced LPWAN infrastructure portfolio, will allow quicker and more secure deployments of LoRaWAN solutions across many IoT segments” said Olivier Hersent, CEO at Actility.
“IoT increasingly contributes to the safety, security and operational efficiency of critical infrastructure and public safety organizations. We are pleased to integrate MC-EDGE with Actility’s platform to simplify the delivery of critical sensor data for such a broad segment of our customer base,” said Scott Schoepel, vice president of global enterprise at Motorola Solutions.
Last month, Actility and Advantech announced the launch of a new joint solution allowing the deployment of private LoRaWAN networks on customer premises, by combining Advantech IPC with embedded Actility software.
