Congratulations to Betacom, Federated Wireless and Boingo Wireless as VMware just announced they selected these three as service providers for their Private Mobile Network. VMware is focused on accelerating the digital transformation as an enterprise first, fully managed private wireless service. Private wireless is becoming one of the key areas for growth in the wireless industry. In fact, this is the kind of move I expect to see more of moving forward.
While this is exciting news, the fact is we are still only in the very early stages of this new private wireless growth wave. This is yet another example of the solid and ongoing growth of the private wireless segment.
How Betacom, Federated Wireless, Boingo Wireless will transform VMware
I expect to see private wireless continue on this rapid growth trajectory moving forward. It will only become more expansive.
Yesterday, VMware announced this latest edge initiative at their VMware Explore 2023 in Las Vegas. They are working with Betacom, Federated Wireless and Boingo Wireless to help enterprise customers reduce the complexity associated with private mobile networks.
Private Wireless is a growth opportunity not only for these three providers, but also for VMware and for other companies in the space as well.
The winning edge is to focus on taking the complicated world of private networking and simplifying it for the enterprise.
VMware Explore 2023 Las Vegas announced Betacom, Federated, Boingo
What VMware is doing is expanding their private wireless reach. They want to get in early in order to be a leader in this new space.
The world of private wireless networking is increasingly becoming a hot topic for enterprises of all shapes and sizes. That means companies, headquarters, government offices, colleges and universities, medical offices, hospitals, engineering, automotive and so much more.
Considering the growth wave which I frequently discuss, private wireless is on the growing side of this wave. And in fact, we are still in the very early stages of this new space.
Saadat Malik, VP of VMware Edge Computing says, “Betacom is an ideal provider for VMware’s edge focused innovations and initiatives. With their dedication to security, performance and simplicity, together we can help our customers advance their business and operational goals to not only embrace the Industrial Internet of Things, but to do it efficiently and effectively and without additional resources”.
Malik also says “VMware is committed to helping customers modernize their networks through innovative software solutions. With Federated Wireless and a growing partner ecosystem, we’re making it simpler for enterprises to deploy and run private networks in a model that aligns with their business needs.”
Private Wireless a rapidly growing segment of wireless industry
You see, IoT is a key sector which along with private wireless is also on a rapid growth wave. This is an important piece of the pie for VMware as they look forward.
Their needs are growing. That’s why they are working with these three private wireless providers to extend their reach into a rapid and new growth sector.
Betacom says they offer the first fully managed private 5G network services. And that they are building on their history as a wireless infrastructure provider to AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
They have completed more than 800 large scale design and deployment projects. Their secure private 5G wireless service is the first managed service of its kind in the United States.
Federated Wireless says they are an innovator in private wireless and shared spectrum services. They work with more than 100 solution and edge partners dedicated to collaborating in advanced development and deployment of shared spectrum services and private wireless.
So, as you can imagine, this VMware announcement is a big deal to the entire private wireless networking space.
Betacom, Federated Wireless and Boingo will help transform VMware into the future. And today we are still only at the very beginning of this exciting next chapter of wireless and telecommunications growth.
