MOSCOW-InfiNet Wireless, a provider of last-mile connectivity solutions, signed an investment deal with Baring Vostok, Intel Capital, and Boston-based investment fund Russia Now. Funding details were not available.
The company’s products incorporate fixed broadband wireless access and emerging WiMAX technologies. It said the funds will be used for research and development work on Internet Protocol-based WiMAX solutions, as well as to fund regional and worldwide sales and marketing.
In addition, Intel signed a business agreement with InfiNet Wireless involving collaboration in 802.16 WiMAX technology development, public-relations support and joint marketing initiatives in the Russian and CIS markets.
