SANTA MONICA, Calif.-Intel Capital and Japanese TV production company Yoshimoto Kogyo are among those backing Bellrock Media Inc., a new company that will develop, produce and deliver content over mobile and broadband platforms.
Hiroshi Nakata, who founded content provider Fandango Inc., will serve as chief executive officer for Bellrock and work out of Tokyo, where he will remain in his position as director of Yoshimoto Kogyo. Peter Levin, whose resume includes stints at Disney Online and Lynx Technologies, will leave his post as partner at Quattro Media to head Bellrock’s U.S. business from California.
Other investors in the company include Fandango, ringtone provider Faith Inc. and Japanese investment firms AC Capital and C.S. Loginet. Bellrock will pursue strategic investment opportunities in the United States and Asia through Sedona Capital, an affiliated fund based in Japan.
