GLENAYRE ENTERS L.A. AGREEMENT

SAO PAULO, Brazil-Glenayre Technologies Inc. reached agreements with several Latin American companies while participating in a trade mission in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. William Daley, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, led the Latin American mission.

In Brazil, Glenayre won contracts to complete an infrastructure expansion and modernization for two of the country’s largest paging companies. Glenayre also signed a one-year contract with Batik Equipamentos S.A. to provide spread spectrum radio links for a telephone infrastructure expansion in the interior of Brazil.

In Argentina, Glenayre signed a one-year contract with Mercury Communications S.A. for spread spectrum radio links to expand Argentina’s cellular telephone infrastructure.

CNET, a unit of Glenayre’s Integrated Network Group, signed a contract to supply its Options package to Conecel S.A. of Ecuador. Options is a suite of software products including network management, radio frequency propagation and traffic analysis functions.
