CARROLLTON, Texas-CellStar Corp. reported a third quarter net income of $16.2 million, or 53 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $12.3 million, or 43 cents per share, reported at this time last year.
Contributing to what the company called its record results was an increase in revenues from U.S. operations to $269 million, compared with $147 million a year earlier. The increase resulted primarily from sales of products and value-added services to Pacific Bell Mobile Services.
Revenues from the company’s international markets all were reported as higher from last year as well. However, CellStar’s total bank debt rose to $88.2 million, from $63 million last year.
