Midwest Wireless launches integrated wireless, VoIP service

MANKATO, Minn.-Regional wireless operator Midwest Wireless launched its integrated oneWave telecommunications service combining features and functions of the carrier’s wireless phone service with a home or office phone using its Voice over Internet Protocol technology. The VoIP technology is compatible with Midwest Wireless’ Clearwave wireless broadband service that is available in 21 communities as well as other broadband services.

Midwest noted the integrated oneWave service provides customers with one phone number and voicemail box that is shared by a wireless and VoIP phone. The service also supports caller identification, call forwarding, call waiting and three-way calling for both devices, and allows online control over selected features.

“With a single service and number shared by both phones, oneWave lets callers dial a person rather than a place,” explained Scott Bergs, chief operating officer of Midwest Wireless. “Both phones ring, and the customer has complete control to answer on their wireless, home or office phone, or to send the call directly to a single voicemail box.”
