MELBOURNE, Fla.-MBO Wireless Inc. placed a follow-up infrastructure equipment order with AirNet Communications Corp. valued at $1 million.
The equipment, used for MBO’s Global System for Mobile communications system in Muskogee, Okla., will include AirNet’s AdaptaCell broadband, software-defined Base Transceiver Stations and AirSite Backhaul Free Base Stations.
“With AirNet’s backhaul-free infrastructure, we are able to rapidly build out our network at a minimal cost,” said V. David Miller II, president of MBO. “The AirSite lets us quickly and easily deploy base stations without the added recurring cost of a T1 line.”
The orders were placed under terms of a contract signed with MBO in 1998 with AirNet currently deploying equipment for use in the Stillwater, Okla., basic trading area under the first phase of this contract.
