CDG becomes market partner for 3GPP2

ARLINGTON, Va.-The Third-Generation Partnership Project 2, a group created to speed the development of global 3G wireless standards, announced it expanded its organization to include the CDMA Development Group as the first market representation partner.

CDG has been participating in 3G activities since January 1999 and joins 3GPP2 members, including the Association of Radio Industries and Business of Japan, China Wireless Telecommunication Standard group, Telecommunications Technology Association of Korea, Telecommunication Technology Committee of Japan and Telecommunications Industry Association of the United States.

“CDG has been participating in 3GPP2 as an individual member since the beginning of the partnership and we are very pleased to become 3GGP2’s first MRP and are looking forward to working closely with the other partners to meet global user requirements,” said Sam Samra, senior director of technical programs for the CDMA Development Group.
