ESPOO, Finland-Nokia signed an agreement to expand New World Mobility’s network in Hong Kong.
Nokia will deliver mobile switching equipment, base stations, high-capacity base station controllers, a full range of professional services and its Intelligent Frequency Hopping technology to enhance the capacity and quality of the carrier’s network.
“New World Mobility and Nokia have been working together to build this network to accommodate more than 500,000 subscribers in less than four years,” said Mike Mulvey, managing director of Nokia Networks. “Nokia’s infrastructure will lay the groundwork for the next generation of multimedia-rich services in the years to come.”
According to Nokia, the contract is valued at $25 million, with the expansion scheduled to be completed by the end of this month.
