Crown Castle International

Crown Castle International Corp. announced Michael G. Ramke has been named vice president of business development for the United States and Philip M. Kelley has been named vice president of business development internationally. Ramke served as vice president since April 1998 and before that held the position of vice president of finance after joining the company as a financial analyst in 1996. Kelley has been with Crown Castle since 1997 and served as vice president since March 1999.

U.S. Wireless

Jan Klein has been appointed vice president of business and marketing development, U.S. Wireless Corp. announced. Klein will be responsible for development of relationships with wireless carriers and content providers. Before going to U.S. Wireless, Klein was a founder of DaVinci Solutions, a business development and consulting firm. U.S. Wireless also announced Dr. Faris Al-Salihi has been named vice president of network design responsible for the radio frequency design of the U.S. Wireless network. Dr. Al-Salihi currently serves as president and chief executive officer of WATCO L.L.C., an engineering design service company.

Pathnet

Pathnet announced three vice presidents have been appointed in its marketing, sales and engineering departments. Patricia P. Kelly was named vice president of marketing and will be responsible for product marketing and offer management. Kelly has come to Pathnet from McKinley Marketing Partners, where she was a lead program manager. Troy H. Cromwell is the new vice president of carrier and Internet service provider sales for Pathnet and will be responsible for national sales of interexchange carriers, competitive local exchange companies and Internet service providers. Cromwell was senior vice president of commercial markets for ChaseCom L.P. prior to his appointment at Pathnet. Ricky D. Moore was named vice president of fiber and equipment engineering at Pathnet and will be responsible for the network design and engineering of the company’s wireless interconnects. Moore previously was director of telecommunications and senior manager of telephony engineering for the Western region at MediaOne Telecommunications.

Wireless Facilities

Norman Korey was named president of international operations for Wireless Facilities Inc. and will be responsible for spearheading business-development efforts in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. Before joining WFI, Korey was vice president and general manager of Motorola Inc.’s network solutions sector, where he was responsible for all aspects of Motorola’s wireless infrastructure business in 92 countries.

Spyglass

Spyglass Inc. announced Herb Williams was named director of mobile data services and will lead a team of expert solution architects and engineers who will focus on developing technologies, alliances and services for the mobile data market. Williams comes to the newly created position with more than 10 years of market and product-development experience in the wireless and telecommunications industries.

Boston Communications Group

Ken Sonberg has been promoted to vice president of corporate engineering and design of Boston Communications Group Inc. and will oversee all of the company’s software-development initiatives. Sonberg was vice president of software development prior to the promotion and was responsible for overseeing the development of software product releases.

ScoreBoard

ScoreBoard Inc. announced Grant Saroka was named vice president of business development and will lead the company’s development efforts. Saroka left Global Wireless Solutions Inc., where he was a founding partner of the wireless consulting firm.

National Dispatch Center

The National Dispatch Center Inc. has named two new directors to its executive management team. Ann F. Cairns has been named director of sales, and Kim K. Haneke is the new director of marketing. Cairns will be responsible for maximizing revenue and new business opportunities, development of strategic business relationships, contract negotiations, training, and sales-department management. Cairns previously was NDC’s national accounts manager. Haneke will oversee all aspects of corporate marketing strategy development and implementation, product and service development, research, collateral development, and communications. Haneke previously was NDC’s marketing manager.

Advanced Radio Telecom

Robert S. McCambridge has been elected president and chief operating officer of Advanced Radio Telecom Corp., the company announced. McCambridge has been acting as interim and chief executive officer and will continue in that role until a new chairman and CEO is named. Before joining Advanced Radio, McCambridge was executive vice president of OneComm.

TriQuint Semiconductor

Nicolas Kauser has been appointed to the Board of Directors of TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. Kauser currently serves on the Board of Directors of NextLink and Velocom. Before his retirement in 1998, Kauser served since 1990 as executive vice president and chief technology officer for AT&T Wireless Services.

Universal Wireless Communications Consortium

The Universal Wireless Communications Consortium announced Umesh Amin has been appointed the new chairman of the UWCC Board of Governors. Amin is currently the director of the New Technologies and Planning Team at AT&T Wireless Services and is responsible for new services planning and managing the wireless research program.

Telular

Mark A. Smith has been appointed vice president of sales for Asia-Pacific, Telular Corp. announced. Smith will be responsible for sales and technical support activities of Telular’s fixed wireless terminals throughout the region. Smith goes to Telular from Syntellect Europe Ltd., where he was director of sales and marketing.

Wireless OnLine

Wireless OnLine Inc. announced Dan Castellano has been appointed vice president of product management. Recently, Castellano served as director of wireless sales and segment marketing at Infineon Technology Corp.

Cellhire USA

Johnathon Grabow has been promoted to vice president of North American operations of Cellhire USA L.L.C. Grabow has been with Cellhire for three years and was recently general manager.

Praesidium Services

Praesidium Services Ltd. announced Thomas W. McClure has been appointed managing partner of Praesidium Services Inc., the company’s new U.S. venture. McClure will be responsible for directing growth in the Americas and developing Praesidium’s relationship with clients already established across the region. McClure previously was assistant vice president for wireless fraud & security for the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association.

Logica

Logica plc announced the appointment of Paul Nichols as president and chief executive of the company’s North American operations. Nichols will oversee providing next-generation services and products in the telecommunications, financial services, energy and utilities, and distribution and transport industries. Nichols previously worked as director of Logica’s financial services international line of business.

AirCell

Brian C. Toohey has been appointed vice president of government relations, AirCell Inc. announced. Toohey previously worked at Iridium L.L.C., where he was director of global personal communications marketing.

Corsair Communications

Corsair Communications Inc. announced Carla Schneiderman and Peter Yuan have been appointed to the company’s management team. Schneiderman is Corsair’s new vice president of marketing and business development and will be responsible for business development, product management, marketing and public relations. Yuan is the new vice president of engineering overseeing the company’s product-development groups and quality-assurance departments. Prior to Corsair, Schneiderman consulted for early-stage and transforming companies in the software industr
y. Yuan moves to Corsair from Nightfire Software Inc., where he was vice president of engineering and was responsible for product planning, development, deployment and customer support.

Vodafone AirTouch

Tomas Isaksson will be appointed president of Global Platform and Internet Services for Vodafone AirTouch plc. Isaksson will leave his position as president and chief executive officer of Europolitian Holdings AB on March 1, and will be based in San Francisco for his new position. Vodafone owns 71 percent of Europolitian.

ArrayComm

ArrayComm Inc. announced Dr. Nitin Shah will join the company as executive vice president and general manager of the Internet Products Business Unit. Shah will report to Martin Cooper, chairman and chief executive officer of ArrayComm and will oversee the development and rollout of i-Burst, the company’s broadband wireless Internet technology. Shah comes to ArrayComm from Lucent Technologies Inc., where he was vice president in charge of wireless Internet applications for the Wireless Networks Group. ArrayComm also announced Craig Barratt, who previously was executive vice president and general manager of the company’s Internet Products Business Unit, will join the newly created office of the chief executive and continue in the role of chief operating officer of ArrayComm.
