LOS GATOS, Calif.-Metricom Inc. and Schlumberger Resource Management Inc., a provider of business services for utilities and energy service providers, unveiled a perpetual license agreement for Metricom’s UtiliNet technology.
The agreement calls for Schlumberger to support current UtiliNet customers and market products based on the technology in the future, providing royalty fees to Metricom.
UtiliNet is a comprehensive wireless data communications solution that uses spread-spectrum radios in the license-free 902 MHz – 928 MHz spectrum range, providing network solutions for remote industrial measurement data transmission, distribution and control applications.
