HELSINKI, Finland-Inktomi Corp., a developer of scalable Internet infrastructure software, and Nokia Networks have agreed to deliver carrier-class infrastructure software to mobile network operators.
According to Nokia, the deal will enable to companies to deliver next-generation mobile data services and applications to both current and third-generation networks.
The new software will integrate Inktomi’s Traffic Server network cache with Nokia’s Artus Messaging Platform Wireless Application Protocol Gateway and Artus MAX Platform for its Mobile Internet Service Delivery platform.
Nokia also announced that Taiwan’s KG Telecom completed the first General Packet Radio Service call in Asia over a Nokia supplied infrastructure.
