SAN FRANCISCO-When people in Atlanta think of the top two wireless service providers, BellSouth Wireless Services and Sprint PCS come to mind. In Minneapolis, the top two are AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and Sprint PCS. And in San Diego, it’s Sprint PCS and Vodafone AirTouch plc.
These findings come from Telephia Inc., in partnership with Harris Interactive, which polled wireless users and non-users in their respective markets to better understand wireless brand awareness, buying and usage habits, customer satisfaction, interest in new product offerings and key factors affecting switching and loyalty.
The report showed that in Atlanta, Sprint PCS and AT&T Wireless received the highest overall customer-satisfaction scores and were the two providers current customers were most likely to recommend to a friend or relative.
In Minneapolis, current customers of Aerial Communications Inc. and U S West Inc. were most likely to recommend their carriers to friends or relatives. Aerial and U S West also recorded the highest customer satisfaction scores for that market.
Customers in San Diego picked AirTouch and Pacific Bell Wireless as the two carriers they would recommend to friends and also nominated the two providers as tops in customer satisfaction.
