ANNAPOLIS, Md.-TeleCommunication Systems Inc. announced the first customer for its Short Message Service Center and Wireless Internet Gateway products, which the company said allows text messages to be sent from any network to any network.
Telecom Mobile Ltd., a New Zealand wireless operator, is in the process of moving from a TDMA network to a CDMA network and will use TCS’ products to allow cross-network messaging.
“As network operators transition to new technology and upgrade their networks, we are seeing high demand for technology that supports multiple air interfaces in wireless carrier networks,” said Tim Lorello, TCS’ senior vice president of network applications.
