Nival buys Russian mobile gaming firm

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-Video game publisher Nival Interactive has acquired controlling interest in Targem Games, a Russian publisher of titles for PCs and mobile handsets.

The acquisition will allow Nival to expand its console and wireless gaming business while maintaining a foothold in the PC market, where its war games have met with success. Nival was acquired by Florida-based technology holding company Ener1 Group earlier this year and maintains a studio in Moscow.

“We are actively seeking acquisitions and partnerships with the best developers in order to share our resources, expertise and contacts to produce world-class software entertainment,” said Sergey Orlovskiy, president of Nival.
