Motorola picks up Malaysian contract

HONK KONG—Motorola Inc. says it has signed a three-year, $44 million contract to supply GSM 1800 infrastructure for Malaysia’s carrier Telecom Cellular, whose service name is TM Touch, in two regions in the eastern part of the country.

“The award will also include the radio-access hardware and software to allow TM Touch to migrate from the existing GSM second generation-based technology to 2.5G GPRS,” said Motorola in a statement.
