ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois, United States—Motorola signed an approximately US$30 million deal to upgrade and expand Horizon PCS’ CDMA system to 1x networks in the U.S. states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana and parts of New York and New Jersey.
“The upgrade of Motorola’s wireless system to 1x is intended to help Horizon PCS provide its customers with high-speed packet data service, while significantly increasing the voice capacity of the system,” said Fred Wright, Motorola’s senior vice president and general manager of North America.
