TDC Mobile partners with Vodafone on roaming

COPENHAGEN, Denmark—Danish carrier TDC Mobile has partnered with Vodafone Group to develop and market international roaming products and services to international travelers and corporate customers.

The first service to be offered to TDC’s customers during the first quarter of 2002 will be Vodafone’s Eurocall, a single rate for Europe, offering competitive prices across Vodafone’ European network. The agreement will allow TDC Mobil to introduce General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) roaming and a service allowing customers to access their mobile services when abroad as if they are using their home networks.

Under the agreement, when TDC customers travel in Europe, their phones will automatically choose Vodafone’ network, when available. When Vodafone customers visit Denmark, they will be connected to TDC Mobile’s network. At the international airports in Denmark, Vodafone and TDC Mobile will be co-branded.

“TDC Mobile’s customers will be able to use these new advanced services when they travel abroad,” said Jorgen Weber, TDC Mobile president. “This places TDC Mobile in a strong position, as these services will become a significant earnings driver for the future.”
