AT&T reports on network peformance during Olympics

SALT LAKE CITY—During the recently completed Winter Olympics, AT&T Wireless said its network handled 9.6 million calls from the venues where the athletes competed, averaging more than 500,000 calls daily. The call volume was nearly three time more than the same period last year and represented nearly 25 percent of the 39 million calls the company handled for the entire Salt Lake City market.

AT&T Wireless said its network scored above 96 percent in three measures of performance, including placing and receiving calls, not dropping or disconnecting calls and clear sound.
