Probe Research examines pay-per-use applications

CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J.—To be successful, pay-per-use applications need to meet three criteria: an accurate bill, happy customers and happy developers, according to a new report from Probe Research Inc.

The company’s research director, David Chamberlain, said “happy developers” are those being adequately compensated for their work and innovation. He said they will provide the steady stream of new and interesting applications that will induce wireless subscribers to pay for content.

The research firm’s latest report examines the value chain delivering content to wireless subscribers on a pay-per-use basis.
