LUBBOCK, Texas-Alamosa Holdings Inc. has announced on-target net subscriber additions and said it plans to release its full second-quarter results after market close August 7, followed by a conference call August 8.
The company said it added approximately 20,000 new subscribers during the second quarter, in line with its recently revised expectations, bringing its total subscribers to about 571,000. Alamosa also reported a churn rate of 3.2 percent.
“The third and fourth quarters are much stronger seasonal quarters for the wireless industry, and we also expect the launch of third-generation services to have a positive impact on subscriber growth,” said David Sharbutt, chief executive officer of Alamosa, adding that the company still expects to report between 190,000 and 210,000 new subscribers for the year.
