SOPHIA-ANTIPOLIS, France-The European Telecommunications Standards Institute said it released test suites to provide a means of proving the interoperability necessary for global roaming in third-generation mobile networks. The suites were designed by the Technical Specification Group for Terminals of the Third Generation Partnership Project.
The systems provide a common platform for testing terminal implementations to ensure mobile phones from different manufacturers behave consistently. The suites include a written specification giving a general description of the purpose and method of each test, in addition to a formal description of each test written in the test language Testing and Test Control Notation.
