MELBOURNE, Fla.-Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla., reported fourth-quarter net income July 24 of $26.6 million, or 40 cents per share, on revenues of $497.6 million, in line with the company’s earlier guidance to investors.
Government and broadcast communications network equipment sales help offset a decline in commercial telecommunications driven primarily by “weak international markets where a lack of capital has radically reduced the expansion of telecom infrastructure,” the company said.
“The North American microwave market remained strong, driven by capacity upgrades to accommodate increased cellular usage and the expansion of cellular infrastructure to rural areas.”
For the full fiscal year, which ended June 28, Harris reported net income of $82.6 million on revenues of $1.876 billion.
