Leap receives $22.2M in Pegaso sale

SAN DIEGO-Leap Wireless International Inc. received approximately $22.2 million in cash from the sale of its equity interests in Mexican operator Pegaso Telecommunications to Spanish carrier Telefonica. Leap said it expects to receive approximately $15.8 million next quarter in repayment of convertible notes issued to Pegaso.

Leap also noted it intends to keep all the money rather than setting aside $25.8 million or contributing it to subsidiaries as previously agreed in connection with its vendor credit agreements.
