NEW YORK-After weeks of trading below a dollar with delisting threats hanging over them, major wireless vendors enjoyed boosts in their stocks as Lucent Technologies Inc. traded for a dollar, Nortel Networks Ltd. jumped above a dollar and L.M. Ericsson, due to its ratio change taking effect, soared up to six dollars in morning trading today.
Analysts think this is due to the upbeat picture from carrier earnings. All three companies have also decided to seek alternative ways to boost their stocks, including reverse stock splits in the cases of Lucent and Nortel, and the ratio change in the case of Ericsson.
