Nokia, RIM sign software licensing agreement

ESPOO, Finland-Nokia Corp. and Research In Motion Ltd. signed a software licensing agreement granting Nokia the right to use and distribute certain RIM BlackBerry software in conjunction with Nokia products globally.

“By signing this software licensing deal with RIM, we are able to provide another compelling option for mobile professionals to manage their e-mail while on the move,” said Erik Anderson, senior vice president Nokia Mobile Phones.
Details of the non-exclusive agreement were not released.
