MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. has introduced a new base station system known as the Flexent CDMA High Density 4.0 that it says will enable operators to increase capacity by up to three times on Lucent CDMA bases stations that have been deployed for nearly a decade.
The system has the ability to support dual-band capabilities on both 850 and 1900 MHz spectrum, transmit diversity for both 2G CDMA and cdma2000, or both, mixed mode capabilities with both UMTS and cdma2000 and intelligent antennas when these technologies become available.
