REDWOOD CITY-Electronic Arts will include several of its most popular console titles among its mobile offerings later this year.
Wireless three-dimensional versions of Madden NFL, The Sims, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and EA Sports FIFA Football will be among Electronic Arts’ first titles to hit the mobile market. Casual gaming titles from the company’s Pogo.com portal will also be launched this year, including Poppit!, Turbo 21 and Tri Peaks Solitaire.
All eight of the initial offerings will be available for play at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in May in Los Angeles. Electronic Arts has announced aggressive plans to pursue the wireless market, releasing roughly 20 titles by the end of the year.
“Better games, richer graphics and deeper communities will take cell phone gaming to entirely new depths with experiences that are as adrenaline-charged as console gaming,” said John Batter, vice president and general manager of EA Mobile. “With racing, sports and puzzle games, our lineup features something fun for everyone.”
