DULLES, Va.-With America Online Inc.’s new U.S. Forces Alerts, AOL members can receive war news alerts online or via text messages on their wireless phones.
Users can customize their alert to receive news specific to any of 76 units in the Marines, Air Force, Army and Navy. “Our new U.S. Forces Alerts are designed to help family members and friends follow military units they care about and get up-to-the-minute news wherever they are,” explained Jim Riesenbach, vice president and general manager of AOL core products.
AOL also offers NCAA Score Alerts during the Final Four championship, Major League Baseball Score Alerts, a Daylight Savings Reminder, 2003 Taxes Reminders and notification of AMBER alerts issued by law enforcement.
