NEW YORK-Action on the wireless Java front continues, with streaming media company HelloNetwork and wireless ring tones company Zingy announcing a unique partnership to allow mobile-phone users to upload videos to the Internet and then send them to their Java-capable mobile phones.
Zingy said it will offer the subscription-based service this summer using technology from HelloNetwork. The service works with video in the .avi, .mov and .mpg file types.
In other Java news, Esmertec will standardize In-fusio’s ExEn Java Extensions gaming engine on its MIDP 2.0 Java virtual machine. Esmertec also announced a partnership with Apeera to offer secure and user-friendly mobile Java download capabilities.
