X10 Wireless files Chapter 11

SEATTLE-Miniature wireless camera company X10 Wireless Technology, known for its pop-up Internet advertisements, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week.

The bankruptcy filing comes two weeks after a jury ordered X10 to pay $4.3 million in damages to three brothers who said X10 stole their proprietary technology and failed to pay $564,000 in commissions. The brothers were the founders of AdvertisementBanners.com, which is listed as X10’s largest unsecured creditor at $3.9 million. Other unsecured creditors include America Online Inc., Google Inc., Level 3, Microsoft Corp., the Washington Post, and the Weather Channel Interactive.
