TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo Inc. said it will pay a $4.58 year-end “commemorative” dividend in addition to a previously proposed $4.58 ordinary dividend, raising the wireless carrier’s annual dividend from $9.15 to $13.74 for the fiscal year ending March 31. The company’s board of directors proposed the commemorative dividend in recognition of i-mode subscriptions surpassing the 40 million mark.
Japan’s leading carrier currently has 41 million i-mode mobile Internet subscribers.
