Time dotCom plans Malaysian broadband network

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia-Service provider Time dotCom Berhad announced it will deploy a non-line-of-sight wireless broadband network in Malaysia using a solution from CommVerge Solutions that includes Navini Networks’ 2.6 GHz Ripwave system.

Initially, 10 base stations will be deployed to serve the region, with plans to add more than 50 base stations to expand coverage. Through the network, high-speed data and Internet-related services will be offered to residential and commercial customers under the brand name Webbit, for Wireless Enhanced Broadband Internet.

“We chose the Navini product proposed by CommVerge because the solution is able to provide a cost-effective network that makes business sense both to us and to our customers, and due to the fact that CommVerge Solutions’ professional services team is to provide the design, integration, project management as well as ongoing maintenance and support of this critical network,” explained Tuan Haji Mohd Fauzi Hj Omar, chief operating officer of Time dotCom Berhad.
