LAS VEGAS-As the Consumer Electronic Show winds down in Las Vegas, content players are front and center launching new products.

  • Handmark Inc. and Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. are offering TV Guide listings for the Palm Treo 700w smart phone from Verizon Wireless. Through monthly or yearly subscriptions, users can access daily local TV listings, as well as movie reviews, TV series episode synopses, show-business news and other data.

 

 

  • Handmark also introduced a Zagat To Go restaurant guide as part of its content offering for the Palm Treo 700w smart phone from Verizon Wirless. The offering gives users a guide for 24,000 spots in 71 cities.

 

 

  • Primedia Enterprises and Ninja Mobile Inc. say they are working on applications for outdoor enthusiasts, giving users access to weather reports, tides, hot spots and other hunting and fishing-related information.

 

 

  • Comedy Central said it will offer content from its “South Park” and “Chapelle’s Show” programs to mobile-phone users.
