Wireless demand strong from enterprise in Europe

A report from Strategy Analytics finds there is strong demand among small and large enterprises for wireless services in Europe.
“Spending on wireless solutions is expected to grow by 23% in the UK alone over the next two years, despite flat overall I.T. budgets in two-thirds of companies,” said Andrew Brown, director of the firm’s Wireless Enterprise Strategies service. “In France and Germany, wireless spend per employee is expected to approach 100 Euros within 2 years.”
The firm noted there is strong demand for wireless security and wireless applications, as well as a strong focus on in-building wireless infrastructure and increasing interest in remote device management. The study also found e-mail and shared contact/address book lead installed wireless applications within enterprises, and the finance, insurance and real estate category is the leading edge vertical with 14% of I.T. spend committed to wireless solutions this year.
